The perfect balancing act between luxury and "au naturel": in the 3 "Kabaisercher" in Bergem, the focus is entirely on the environment and sustainability.
The 3 huts were produced in the Netherlands and consist of 24 layers of cardboard that were wrapped around a kind of spool in a machine. Hence the name "Wikkelhouses". The cardboard is protected from moisture with a fleece and a wooden shell. The Wikkelhouses consist of individual segments that are flexibly and creatively assembled like building blocks and have a lifespan of 50 years.
Moreover, no elaborate foundations had to be poured for their installation, and the cardboard huts can stand on small pillars and thus leave no larger footprint than necessary.
The Wikkelhouses are located on the meadow directly behind the cultural centre "Beim Nëssert" in Bergem.
