From Clemency to Dudelange or to Bettembourg, the Minett region offers an exceptional hike through the heart of the Land of the Red Rocks: the Minett Trail. Stretching for 90 km in length and clearly marked, this is a trail for seasoned hikers. It can be broken down into several stages, depending on your preferences and physical condition.
During the hike itself, you will be guided through many of this region’s typical landscapes: open-pit iron mines (most notably the “Prënzebierg – Giele Botter”), woodland areas, the Fond-de-Gras (a valley dotted with numerous mining tunnels), the nature reserve of “Haard-Hesselsbierg-Staebierg” in Dudelange, the new urban district in Belval, the towns of Pétange and Dudelange, etc.
After a day of hiking, you’ll be able to rest and stay overnight in one of the “Kabaisercher”, entirely renovated cabins built in various surprising locations, specifically for hikers. To make the most of these exceptional rest stops, don’t forget to book in advance!
You can, of course, bring your four-legged friend on the Minett Trail. However, you will need to keep your pet on a leash to avoid disturbing the surrounding nature, particularly nesting birds. Our main goal is to get as many people as possible to enjoy our wonderful region, while always respecting the environment!
