Who would have thought that going to school could bring so much joy? At this "Kabaischen", one of a total of 11 hikers' huts on the Minett Trail, the hearts of any guest will beat higher. And don't worry: you don't have to answer any exam questions here. This old school building was completely renovated by an architect's office and many useful and comfortable elements were added; no mandatory studying necessary.
Like a beacon, the building of the old Linger School has always stood out from the rest of the streetscape with its massive, unshakable appearance. The redevelopment wanted to do justice to this distinctive symbolic character in the new development of the Minett Trail "Kabaisercher" program; Therefore, the redesign focused primarily on the outer areas. Care was always taken to meet the needs of guests and residents at the same time.
Thee new entrance from the main roads open this "Kabaischen" to its environment and really puts it in focus. The outdoor area was also supplemented with self-weathering steel elements, which optically enhance the "Kabaischen" and the environment and further set the scene. These steel creations evoke the hue and work of the Minett steel industry.
The renewal and upgrades continue throughout the interior of the "Kabaischen": the classroom has been converted into a shared living room, the upstairs has been completely redesigned to accommodate at least 7 beds in a shared apartment.
A terrace of 40 m² invites you to a barbecue. Facing south, this terrace is also equipped with a fixed sunshade. New and curated green areas are set up to overgrow the entire outside complex over the years and thus imitate the renaturation of the entire region.
